What is Pilates?

Pilates has seen a huge rise in popularity in recent years, but to many people the name doesn’t mean much. In short, Pilates is an awesome low-impact workout that is safe and effective for absolutely everyone. At it’s core, Pilates is a movement methodology that teaches and promotes proper alignment. The Pilates focus on alignment translates to healthy, functional exercise that reduces the likelihood of injury and promotes life-long physical fitness. 

Mat or Equipment?

Pilates can be done on a mat or on a variety of specialized equipment. All equipment at my private studio is made by Balanced Body, the international standard for Pilates Equipment. Building on the original concepts and designs of Joe Pilates, this equipment has been fine tuned for decades to provide the best experience and results for Pilates practicioners.

What kind of training do Pilates Instructors complete?

Pilates Instructors who complete accredited programs typically undergo 500+ hour programs that include a final written and practical examination. Pilates instructors are also required to complete continuing education credits to maintain their certifcation.
